Governance

The Governing Body of The Bewdley School is responsible for managing education at the school, by working with the Head Teacher to shape the school’s education strategies, ensuring that public funds are well spent.

As The Bewdley School is a Foundation School, the governing body is the employer of staff at the school and is responsible for the admission of students to the school.

The Bewdley School Foundation holds the land and buildings in trust for the education of children at the school. The Foundation was formed as a community partnership between The Bewdley School, Bewdley Festival and Bewdley Civic Society. The Foundation is a Charitable Company (Company no: 14025726), which was created to develop the school estate for the mutual benefit of students at the school, and members of the Bewdley community.

Bewdley Development Trust is a Community Interest Company (Company no: 04456169) incorporated as a company on 6 June 2002 as Opportunity Bewdley, becoming Bewdley Development Trust Community Interest Company (BDT CIC) on 3 July 2006. The company has successfully managed many developments in Bewdley including the transformation of St. George’s Hall in the town centre. It will now be used to manage the Foundation’s community facilities.
