We are fast approaching the start of a new academic year and we hope that all our families have had a restful break. The start of the academic year is always a busy time, but this year again will have the added disruption of the onsite COVID-19 LFD testing that students will be attending before their return. Thank you to the parents/carers who previously provided consent, if you have not consented to your child having a COVID-19 onsite test, you can provide consent here – COVID-19 Consent Form
Testing will commence from Wednesday 1 September at our Youth Centre. The Youth Centre is located next to the school by the Bewdley Leisure Centre, students should enter through the front doors and will be greeted by our testing team who will provide further instructions.
Schedule for Testing
At the end of term we issued a schedule for testing and we are aware there were a number of errors on the email version which caused confusion. We apologise for the confusion and can confirm the schedule for testing is below:

Students who are joining Sixth Form in Year 12 will have their induction and sign up on Friday 3 September. This means that students who wish to attend Bewdley Sixth Form should come and take a test on Thursday 2 September before attending the induction on Friday.
School Photographs
Due to the staggered start to the academic year, the school photographers will be in on the following dates taking students annual school photos. Please ensure that students start the academic year with their full uniform. More details of uniform requirements can be found on our website – Uniform – The Bewdley School
Friday 3 September – Year 7 & Year 12
Monday 6 September – Year 8, Year 9 & Year 13
Wednesday 8 September – Year 10 & Year 11
Times for Testing
To ensure that testing is conducted quickly and efficiently students are being tested in time blocks based on their tutor group and their surname. Each student has an allocated time period to attend their test. This schedule can be found here – Times for Testing
Once a student has done their test they can return home and await the results of their test which will be emailed / texted to the details provided on the online consent form. Please note, that if you do not receive a text notification to assume the result is negative. Any result that is positive will be followed up with a call from the school as well as from the NHS test and trace service.
Students do not need to attend the first day of testing in their school uniform and it is crucial that students attend in their required time slot. If students are unable to attend at this time, please email office@bewdley.worcs.sch.uk
We will provide further details about students return to school closer to the start of term.
