Following the government’s recent announcement regarding the extension of the ‘Phase 4’ restrictions until at least 19th July 2021, we are unable to offer our new Year 7 students the opportunity to visit our school in person on Friday 9 July as planned. This is a direct result of guidance received by schools across the country instructing them not to carry out face to face transition before the end of term. This also means that our Uniform fitting drop in for parents at the Youth Centre on Friday 9 July has also been postponed.
Though students are not able to attend our site on Friday 9 July, all other aspects of our transition programme will continue. Parent/Carers will shortly receive a virtual presentation from Mr Phillips (Head of Year 7) which will outline lots of important information for students and parents/carers. There will then also be a virtual question and answer event on Tuesday 6 July with Senior Staff and Mr Phillips to answer any questions parent/carers may have.
As a result of being unable to offer students an onsite induction, we have extended the deadline to apply for a Summer School place to Wednesday 23 June at 6pm. We actively encourage all parent/carers who can, to send their child to our Summer School, as this now provides students with the only opportunity to visit the school before starting in September. Our summer school is a unique opportunity for students to experience their new Secondary school and take part in a wide range of activities and make new friends before joining in September.
As well as the Summer School, we will also be rescheduling our Uniform fitting drop in to take place during the Summer School period. This will still allow parents to purchase the correct sized uniform at a discount before term starts.

If parent/carers have already signed up for Summer School, they do not need to do anything else. For those who are yet to apply for a place, please complete the form below by Wednesday 23 June.
