As a Graphics module, students will be completing most of the basic skills on our CAD package, 2D Design. Students will combine these skills with creativity to laser cut a professional quality bookmark and keyring. Those who excel will also have the chance to create a laser cut door sign to their own design.

Laser cut Clock and Gift Box
Students will design and manufacture a theme driven, laser cut ‘flat-packed’ clock using 2D Design and your imagination! If students complete all the work on time, they will also have the opportunity to manufacture a professional quality package to present their work as a gift.
Year 9 Design Technology
Pine Container with Pewter/Hardwood Handle
Students focus is largely on practical work in this module. They will produce a Pine container to a set specification. They will also have a design and make opportunity to work with cast pewter or hardwoods to make a handle for their container.
Bird Feeder
A major Design and make task. Students will undergo a ‘mini’ GCSE task to complete a folder of work on the theme of ‘Encouraging Wildlife into the Garden’. Students will then complete the practical for this content.
