As we come to the end of another busy and productive term, we would like to take a moment to reflect on our achievements and share some important updates.

A review of the last term

This term has been bustling with activity, and we have had the pleasure of organising several educational trips which have provided our students with enriching experiences beyond the classroom. This term’s trips have included; Llanrug, Iceland, theatre visits (“An Inspector Calls”, “Dracula”). We also enjoyed school events at St George’s Hall including the mini production of “Macbeth” and this term’s musical showcases.

A special mention is also deserved to the students who participated in this term’s Panathlon event, winning third place in the County Competition; well done to all who took part! This term we have also celebrated science week, with a particular highlight being Ms Morgan’s lunch time drum extravaganza.

World Book Day was celebrated with the Wonka Bar sale which raised £281.19 for the house charities. A further £262.08 was raised through the Mothers’ Day event. The Easter raffle made a further £600. The Rotary Photo competition proved as popular and successful as ever with those viewing the exhibition of photos marvelling at the quality of the many entries. Well done to all participants and the winners. Thank you to all the staff and volunteers (including the Sixth Form House Captains) who made these trips and events possible and to the students for representing The Bewdley School so well.

This term has also seen the launch of the Careers Newsletter which can be found on the school’s website and social media. The newsletter includes useful information for students and parents about upcoming careers related opportunities as well as links to websites to support career development.

Wishing Year 11 and Year 13 students “Good Luck

We would like to extend our best wishes to our Year 11 and Year 13 students as they prepare for their final exams. We understand that this is a crucial time for you, and we are here to support you in every way possible. Remember, your hard work and dedication will pay off. Keep focused, believe in yourselves, and good luck!

Uniform update

As we look forward to the summer term, we would like to remind you that students are permitted to wear school polo shirts after the Easter break. Please ensure that these are in line with the school uniform policy. Should students prefer, they can continue to wear their shirt and tie. Students should continue to bring a school jumper (not the PE hoodie) in line with the school uniform policy.

The Summer term – looking ahead

Next term is always a busy term as we focus on supporting all students taking external exams. We will have a whole school focus on behaviour during the first part of the term to ensure that behaviour in lessons and around the school site remains at the high levels we expect and were noted by the Ofsted inspectors earlier in the year. There will be special assemblies for students across years 7-10 at the start of next term.

We welcome 3 new teaching colleagues after Easter. Miss Perry will be joining the English department, Mrs Danbury will be joining us for Business Studies and Mr Phillips will be joining the social sciences team.

Thank you and enjoy the break

Finally, we would like to thank our dedicated staff, supportive parents, and diligent students for making this term a success. We hope you have a restful and enjoyable Easter break, and we look forward to welcoming you back for the summer term. Please note that there is no training day at the start of term and that lessons will commence for all students on Monday 28th April 2025.
