In response to the Covid19 pandemic we have made a number of changes to our normal working practices to ‘socially distance’ our school community as much as practically possible. Measures we are taking include:

• Postponing or cancelling all extra-curricular activity that is not exam related
• Postponing or cancelling all trips and visits
• Cancelling all school assemblies until further notice
• Postponing year 7 parents evening on Thursday 26th March (a progress report will be sent home)
• Conducting all external meetings remotely

With the last of these in mind, if parents/carers wish to discuss their child’s education, please do so by email or phone, as we will not be inviting any of our parents or partner agencies into school for meetings.

We are also exploring methods to use our school network infrastructure for remote teaching, though we will not have the capacity to offer remote teaching at the same time as school is open and conducting normal lessons. We will do our best to provide work for students who are staying at home due to medical vulnerability. If parents/carers have paid for a school trip, please also bear with us as the funds will in most cases be with the company engaged as trip organiser, and refunds will depend on their processing.

Please note that the guidance has not changed for external public examinations since my letter of last week.
